The first thing people think about when someone says American food is burgers, and it’s deservedly ( /dəˈzərvədlē/ ) so. Grilled pieces of meat sandwiched/ˈsanˌ(d)wiCH/) in fresh buns and topped with fresh greens, pickles, and cheese is irresistible when done right.

In this video, we’ll be listing down the six juiciest, tastiest, flavorful, and overall just amazing burgers in New York City that will be leaving you wanting more.

Emily’s Burger

The Emmy Burger is what joy, love, and fear were to taste like, made into a burger. This piece of the patty is made with dry-aged beef topped with melted cheese, onion, a warm pretzel( pretzel) bun, and the secret “Emmy sauce” is a burger one would never forget once they taste it.

To get your hands on the Emmy burger, visit Emily’s at Brooklyn, Clinton Hill.

Au Cheval Burger

Chicago’s best burger has decided to compete with the great joints from New York City. The burger is often ordered as a “single,” but they’re actually a double with two perfectly seared patties on the outside yet still juicy on the inside.

This is then topped with the perfect portions of melted American cheese, mayo, and pickles. Au Cheval also gives you the option of adding thick-cut peppery bacon, which we definitely recommend!

These bad boys are currently being served in an Au Cheval branch in Cortlandt Alley, West Village.

Minetta Tavern – Black Label Burger

For its costly price of $33 dollars, this burger is still worth it. Minetta Tavern’s Black Label Burger is one of the very first super-luxe burgers in the Big Apple, and today it still stands as one of the best.

If you’re wondering what’s in this $33 dollar burger, it’s more than just a piece of the patty and a bun, that’s for sure. The Black Label Burger uses a butter-basted patty made from dry-aged ribeye, a mound of perfectly caramelized onions, and a custom Balthazar Bun.

Visit Minetta Tavern at Greenwich Village to get a taste of this once-in-a-lifetime super-luxe burger.

BK Jani

Back to more affordable burgers, the BK Jani is a signature burger of a tiny Pakistani place in Bushwick that pulls a unique twist on the traditional burger. In terms of look, this burger might not look equally as delicious as the rest of the ones on this list, but don’t let that fool you.

The BK Jani patty is made in a more traditional Pakistani style, and instead of mayo or mustard, the burger is topped with spicy mint chutney, lettuce, and a large slice of grilled tomato.

BK Jani is located at 679 Grand St, Brooklyn if you’re interested.

Jeepney’s Chori Burger

Another unique one on the list is probably the first medium well-cooked burger on the list. The Chori Burger is a Filipino-inspired burger with a patty mix of beef and longanisa sausage.

The sweet and spicy sausage adds flavor to the burger patties you didn’t think were imaginable. Top it up with spicy ketchup, aioli, a fried egg, and a fresh brioche bun, and you’ll be sure to want more. This messy masterpiece can be ordered at Jeepney in 201 1st Avenue, New York.

Shake Shack

Yes, yes. We know that Shake Shack is fast food, but that doesn’t take away that this burger joint is still one of the best in NYC and possibly the rest of America. Thin patties with crispy edges, toasted potato buns, high-quality lettuce, and tomato don’t get as convenient, simple, and unique as this.

A shake shack burger is the type of comfort food you’d want to be eating at the local park or on your couch while you watch Netflix and unwind after an entire week of hard work at the office.

These six burgers are what stood out to us as one of the best in the city that never sleeps, but we’re sure that because New York City is so massive, we might have missed some.
