Known for being the birthplace of rap, being home to one of the most historic professional baseball teams, being a go-to for amazing food, and many other things, The Bronx is a must-visit destination for people visiting New York.

In this post, we’ll be looking at five things to enjoy while visiting The Bronx.

New York Botanical Garden

A botanical garden may not be someone’s priority when visiting a place, but trust us when saying that the New York Botanical Garden is worth visiting. It’s a landmark attraction filled with countless gardens, miniature NYC landmarks, and an Orchid Show that’s available from February to April.

There are a lot of things to explore in this major garden. The Botanical Garden has the largest collection of books on botany in the entire world. They have perfect venues for outdoor weddings. They have the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory that will make you feel like you were suddenly transported to a tropical paradise.

Yankee Stadium

Home to the 27-time World Series Champions, Yankee Stadium is one of the most iconic spots in The Bronx. Even if it isn’t the old stadium where significant people like Lou Gehrig and Babe Ruth played, it’s still home to arguably the best franchise in Baseball History.

It’s perfectly fine if you don’t catch a game because it might be out of your budget, but nothing beats seating in the lower levels and enjoying a handful of fries and Jersey Mike’s. Some may even argue that it’s far better than experiencing the game from other sports because it’s where most of the crowd is, and you can feel the energy.

Speaking of feeling the crowd, The Bronx Night Market is not only the best place to get to interact with people of all cultures. It’s also home to an amazing selection of culinary delights from more than 100 food vendors.

From iconic eateries like Mao’s Bao, Chavas Empanadas, Mysttik Masala, The BX Burger Co. to a variety of live music from local talent, you’ll have endless things to do and explore in the Bronx Night Market.

City Island

Connected to The Bronx via a bridge from the edge of Pelham Bay Park, City Island is home to many antique stores, galleries, and old Victorian homes. If you’re looking to take a break away from the hustle and bustle of the city, City Island is the perfect place to unwind, relax, and have a literal breath of fresh air.

City Island’s small community boasts a selection of popular seaside restaurants like Tony’s Pier, Vistamar, and Johnny’s Reef. After a seafood feast, you can take a walk and stroll through several places like the Historical Society and Nautical Museum for exhibits on City Island.

Bronx Zoo

Bronx Zoo is the biggest urban zoo in the entire United States. It’s home to the Congo Gorilla Forest that allows people to glimpse several gorillas like the Western lowland gorilla, mandrill, and okapi up close.

Other than gorillas and the more than 650 species living in the premise, the zoo is home to a Children’s Zoo, the Wild Asia Monorail, and a Treetop Adventure experience. The Bronx Zoo is a must-visit!
