They say Manhattan is a food wasteland, but today, we’ll prove to you that that isn’t always the case. We’re going to take you to five cheap eats spots that are a must-visit – whether you are a local or a tourist. These cheap eats give you delicious meals at a very affordable price.

First on the list is NY Pizza Suprema.

Experience what it’s like to be a local in New York with this $4 slice pizza. It’s a bit pricey for a pizza, but it’s worth it! It’s so big that you’ll have to fold the slice into two before you take that most-awaited bite. Folding your pizza into two will complete your NY pizza food trip experience! It’s crispy, thin, and bursting with flavor! Hmmmmm, it’s guaranteed delicious!

It has a perfect location, too. If you are attending a concert at The Garden across the street, drop by NY Pizza Suprema. NYC’s New Train Hall is also just across the street.

One slice is enough to fill your hungry stomach!

Look for our second spot – the Acuario Café.

We’ve featured this café several times now, and we can’t get enough. Acuario Café is not just a food adventure, and you’ll have fun locating it too because it is located in a freight elevator. We got chicken, rice, and beans for only $5 – imagine that, a complete meal for only $5!

It would be best to visit Acuario Café early so you’ll have more food choices. If you go a few hours after lunch, you might have limited choices already. This restaurant is such a hit. It caters mainly to the working class.

You cannot find anything more filling than meals in Acuario Café, at least on this side of Manhattan.

Visit our third spot – Jollibee Midtown!

This fast-food chain is not number 1 in the Philippines for nothing. This is definitely a must-try. You might be curious about the long lines you see outside the restaurant, and that’s because this food is religion in the Philippines. And when we say religion, it means that Filipinos look for it even if they are in other countries.

What we are trying now is their Jolly Spaghetti. To set your expectations, it’s not like the Italian tasting spaghetti’s. Jolly Spaghetti is sweet but still oh so delicious. You should try out their chicken too.

You can hardly see this store empty, and there’s a reason why. Try it for yourself and understand why people would really line up.

Fourth on our list is Los Tacos No. 1

Just like Jollibee, you’ll never see this place empty. And you bet it, and there’s a reason why it’s not! You’ll definitely love going back here, even if you’re Mexican, because you’ll know how good it is.

You can get the Adobada Taco for only $3.95. It has marinated pork, cilantro, guacamole, pineapple. It’s just pure perfection – bursting in your mouth with your every bite! It gives you the right amount of kick with its rich flavor. This is definitely more than just what you expect for a taco.

Just a warning, though, you’ll want it and crave for it, so chances are, you’ll keep coming back.

Our last stop is Empanada Mama.

Try this Short Rib Empanada for only $4.50. You cross over into Hell’s Kitchen, and it’s about a 15-minute walk from Times Square. It might be a little bit outside midtown, but take a bite, and you’ll understand why it’s worth the extra walk. Braised short with gravy and potatoes in an empanada. Ugh, it just tastes so good! The meat is so tender and juicy, and you’ll just keep wanting more.
