Hawaii is one of—if not the most—unique states in America. Not only is it the only state that’s an archipelago, but it’s also the only state with a tropical climate. People travel to Hawaii all the time, and for this video, we’ll list five places you should visit when in the state.

1. USS Arizona Memorial – Pearl Harbour

First on this list is possibly the most visited destination in Hawaii. Over 2 million tourists from the U.S. and the rest of the world visit the USS Arizona Memorial. Not only is it historical—as the spot where the first event happened during WWII for the U.S., but it also provides a great scenic view.

2. Moloka’i’s Kalaupapa National Historical Park

Located in Maui, Moloka’i’s Kalaupapa National Historical Park is a mouthful name for a national historical park built in tribute to the Kalaupapa and Kalawao Settlements in 1980.

It’s a beautiful, beach-side, spiritual place with deep significance. This area was where king Kamehameha V banished everyone affected with Leprosy when it made its way to Hawaii. However, it’s very isolated, so make sure to bring food, toiletries, first-aid kits, and anything you may immediately need.

3. Waikiki Beach

Waikiki, meaning “spouting waters,” has an interesting history. The name comes from how the area used to be an offshoot of the freshwater rivers that flowed out into the sea.

Waikiki is also the first place in Hawaii to have a designated government center, so aside from the beautiful beach, smooth white sand, and amazing scenery, it’s also historic.

4. Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park

Visiting this National Park is a must. You haven’t been to Hawaii if you haven’t seen at least one live volcano. The national park located on Big Island is a fascinating destination that shows how Hawaii was formed through a number of eruptions from volcanoes both below and above the surface.

One can do many things at the park, but one main activity would be to go on a hike and come close to the amazing wonders of nature.

5. Na Pali Coast State Wilderness Park in Kauai

Last but not least on this list is a park made famous by Jurassic Park. The Na Pali Coast State Wilderness Park boasts an amazing view of the ocean, donning a dramatic coastline and cliffs rippling throughout Mount Waialeale. Visiting this park in Kauai is definitely a must.
