From Nicolas Cage to George Clooney and even Beyonce and Jay Z, private islands seem to be common among celebrities. Maybe it’s a fame thing, or maybe life’s just better when you’re on island time. There’s just something about kicking back, relaxing, and living life without any worries, even if it’s just for a couple of days.

Celebrities Who Have Their Own Private Islands

In this post, we’ll be taking a closer look at celebrities who have their very own private islands all over the world.

David Copperfield

David Seth Kotkin, or more commonly known as David Copperfield, is heralded as the world’s most commercially successful magician in history. He has been nominated for 38 Emmy Awards and has won 21 of them in his career, spanning more than 40 years. Now, enjoying his time as a semi-retired celebrity, he spends most of his time working 15 shows per week in Las Vegas that last about 90 minutes each.

If he isn’t in Sin City working his magic, he’s in the Bahamas managing his chain of 11 resort islands. He calls them Musha Cay and the Islands of Copperfield Bay. He reportedly spent $50 million on his private island in the southern Bahamas, but you could spend $57,000 to stay a night in what he calls “the most magical vacation destination in the world.”

Angelina Jolie & Brad Pitt

Although the couple is no longer, more than 15 years spent together as a couple was enough time to invest a buy a lot of things together. One of these was a heart-shaped island north of New York called Petra Island. As of now, there isn’t any source that says who the island went to, but rumors say they might end up selling it.

Steven Spielberg

Steven Spielberg built an entire empire out of his hit films from the 70s up to today. He began his career in the New Hollywood era and, 40 years later, is now worth $3.7 billion. With this much money in his pockets, it’s no surprise that the renowned director has not one but two islands off the coast of Portugal. We are still yet to get an up-close view of the islands, but we’re sure it’s as beautiful as most of the other islands on the coast of Portugal.

Lenny Kravitz

American singer, songwriter, musician, and father of Actress Zoe Kravitz has been gracing us with his funk, creativity, and charisma since the 90s. With hit singles like “Again” and “It Ain’t Over ‘til It’s Over,” he’s sold over 40 million albums worldwide and has built a career worth over $80 million.

With this much money, he’s expected to splurge some of it for escapades, and he certainly did. Kravitz owns a private island in yet again the Bahamas. He reportedly has his own recording studio on the island, but sources say he prefers to sleep in a trailer and not a tropical mansion. As weird as it sounds, it’s definitely something that Lenny would do.

Beyonce and Jay Z

Owning a private island is something up the power couple’s alley. Beyonce is worth $400 million, and Jay Z is worth an estimated $1.2 billion to $1.4 billion. However, because the two are amazing at keeping a low profile, we aren’t sure what island they own. However, several sources point to Stranger’s Cay, an island listed on Vladi Private Islands as their island.

Stranger’s Cay, also known as Jwycesska Island, is located in northern Abacos, Bahamas. It’s an island that spans 0.5 miles from west to east and 2 miles from northwest to southeast, spanning a total of 351 acres.
